     Amid the global momentum toward digital transformation and sustainable development, the accounting profession is entering a new era shaped by the integration of intelligence technologies, sustainability thinking, and innovative applications. The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, digital tools, and sustainability disclosure standards is not only reshaping the practices of accounting research and the profession but also presenting new challenges and opportunities for accounting education and talent development.

     With the rapid development of intelligent technologies, accounting continues to evolve beyond its traditional functions of recording and reporting information, while further strengthening its role in decision support, risk management, and value creation. These developments demonstrate the evolving value of the accounting profession in response to a changing environment. At the same time, sustainable development and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) issues have become major areas of concern for businesses and capital markets. How accounting information can effectively measure, disclose, and analyze sustainability performance has therefore emerged as a critical issue requiring collaborative exploration by both academia and practice. Against this backdrop, innovation extends beyond the adoption of technological tools to encompass comprehensive transformation in research methodologies, teaching approaches, institutional design, and interdisciplinary integration.

     In light of these developments, the 2026 Taiwan Accounting Association Annual Conference adopts “Intelligence, Sustainability, and Innovation” as its theme. The conference aims to explore how smart technologies can be integrated with sustainability principles to promote innovation in accounting research, practice, and education. Through the conference, we seek to facilitate exchanges between academic research and professional practice, deepen understanding of emerging issues, and explore the evolving role and future direction of the accounting profession in an era defined by intelligence and sustainability.

     The 2026 Taiwan Accounting Association Annual Conference will be held on November 5~6, 2026. We sincerely invite scholars, educators, and practitioners from Taiwan and abroad to participate actively. Through research presentations, experience sharing, and intellectual exchange, we hope to collectively advance the continued development and enrichment of the accounting profession at the intersection of intelligence, sustainability, and innovation.
